The students in my classroom come from a wide variety of backgrounds with most of them being of the poverty level background. Most of these students do not have positive role models for how to care for themselves or provide healthy choices for them. By having the dramatic play props in the classroom the children will learn how to care for others and develop empathy. The props will also allow the students to learn to talk and use their verbal skills. These dramatic play props such as dolls, clothes, food, and cooking utensils will allow the children to learn and execute what they are learning in the classroom to gain a firm foundation for future learning. These dramatic play props, including multicultural food and dolls and a variety of dress up clothes from leisure, work, play, and their fantasy outfits, will allow the students and teachers to work together to gain an understanding of what a healthy and positive lifestyle looks like and be able to share the information with family members at home. .
