My students need an iPod player in order to organize and hold the music we use during song time. Our CDs usually get scratched and the use of an iPod would prevent it.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students often feel frustrated when they are not able to listen to their favorite song because it is not quickly available to them. The sound of music will be flowing in our classroom with the touch of a button with the help of an ipod touch.

My students are part of The Early Childhood Education Division of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

The program goes by School Readiness Language program. Each program has two classes. Each class has an enrollment of 18 students. My Morning class has 11 Limited English Proficient students and 6 are English Only students. My afternoon class has 13 LEP and 4 EO. For all my students, this is their first schooling experience. They are like little sponges ready to learn.

My Project

My students will be able to develop their oral language and gross motor skills through singing and movement. It is believed that children learn more easily when they enjoy the activity. Music and movement will definitely help my students learn and be motivated to learn. Students will also learn the skills of manipulating an ipod and will prepare them for the technological world.

My students need ipod touch in the classroom in order to have music enhance their education and give them the tools to succeed in life.

Music will help them review concepts in all the subject areas.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
