As the Library Media Specialist and Social Studies Teacher, I often find students coming into our Media Space to find relief and relaxation from their busy schedules. In our Media Center we advocate for student growth, leadership, mentorship, collaboration, respect, and most of all fun. Our school is located in a community that is extremely close-knit and at times lacks the necessary funding it so truly deserves. Students in Naugatuck work very hard to pursue their dreams and we want to advocate for the Media Centers' greatness and uphold it as the heart of the school.
We firmly believe that education is the foundation from which we build success.
Our space is open for all students and we would love to build a more inviting and welcoming space to provide an environment where students can build upon their creativity and flourish in a unique space. Students enjoy coming to our space because of the positive climate we have instilled and we want to provide the highest level of support for our students that visit the NHS.
My Project
We would love to purchase a drawing tablet for our Economics course. This piece of technology will allow students in class and at home to see visuals they would normally be able to see on a whiteboard. Since we are living in COVID times, we have switched to a hybrid model of learning. Half of our students are learning at home while the other half is in person. By having this extra piece of technology we can bring together both cohorts of students and have a cohesive learning experience. The stylus and tablet will work wondering on trying to depict supply and demand and other graphics needed for Economics.
