My Students

School counseling is an integral part of the school system. Besides academic achievement, students need social-emotional tools to grow and be successful. I have 500 students with a variety of different backgrounds, experiences and opportunities at an inner city school.

Most of my students referred to me are faced with many issues, from parents' divorce, incarceration, deportation, drug use, mental health and other stressors that could hinder their learning.

I teach, guide and counsel them to develop their coping skills. With the right technology and up-to-date professional development, I will be better equipped and prepared to serve them effectively.

My Project

With changes during COVID in the past two years, everyone including school counselors need to equip ourselves with better understanding of how to serve the students and school community more effectively.

I always value life long learning and continued professional development for myself and my career.

The Evidence-Based School Counseling Conference (EBSCC) provides school counselors and educational stakeholders with professional development in effective cutting-edge school counseling program components and interventions that can create dynamic and powerful school counseling programs.

Attending EBSCC will definitely fulfil this vision and enable me to also connect with other professionals in this field.
