My Project

The Day the Crayons book series are some of my students' favorite read-alouds in art class! I would love to have the real books to read aloud in my class instead of playing read-alouds on the screen. Students also love to get their hands on these books for themselves when they finish early. These simply make them excited to read a book.

Literacy that keeps students engaged and thinking creatively is important for the art room.

My current library available to students is slim and does not contain a lot of art-themed books that I would love to offer my students. These books and plush toys make connections to many other subjects and content like social-emotional learning and geography. They also have many books for holidays, which help students see the character development across the stories.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
