My Project

Here at our alternative school, we see students for many reasons. In most cases, our children are at-risk, have learning disabilities and all of committed some infraction that has removed them from the regular classroom. Along with this, many of my students have criminal records because of illegal actions they took at their school or possibly at home. We serve a large minority population.

My students are not typical by any means.

Still, they deserve the same materials as their peers in our feeder schools. Because of this, we are asking for new equipment for our main classroom. This equipment will serve a multitude of needs. Below are some examples.

The podium/PA system will be used by our students to learn debating or musical skills. Finally, it will be used for after school meetings and programs where our system parents or students are involved.

The tables and chairs are a must. They will be used as seating for students, teachers and visitors as needed.

The television will be used to show informative television shows and to stream materials off of applications. It can also be used in the places of an LCD projector.

Finally, the refrigerator will be used to keep things cold for various programs. It will also be used to house any student medication that is required to be refrigerated.

I know this is a very expensive project. Since my students have been removed from their schools, many of them now suffer from an inferiority complex. Because of this, I find it very important to provide them with the proper materials in order to support their success. Considering all the factors I have mentioned, this could be some of my students' last chance to turn around. Help me to create for them a model classroom!
