My Students

Students at my school are lovers of books! We have so many disadvantaged students that the school library is the only place they have access to reading materials. More than a third of our population are from low-income households. I'd like to continue to provide materials to keep that love of reading going.

My Project

Reading is so important. And what better way to get students to read than to provide them with books they are interested in! Students have made wish lists, and the most popular wishes are for The Babysitters Club and Dork Diaries. I have some, but not enough for the 281 students in my school! Students check out books from the library and are able to take them home to read with their families. Some check out books that are below their reading level so they can read to younger siblings. Some check out books that are above their level so they can read with an adult at home. Help my students become better readers!
