This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Surface decoration is about adding textures and designs to the ceramic form. Some examples can include carving, hand-drawn objects, as well as adding splashes of color to a mug. While working with clay can sound very easy and fun, things can get quickly challenging when students get too creative with clay and not the right tools for successful surface decoration.

My students are enthused about creating quality art.

When it comes to art, my students know quality and achieve a great sense of satisfaction in creating work that has good craftsmanship. In supporting student learning in Ceramics and Advanced Ceramics with successful projects, the engraved cookie cutters and decals will aid in enhancing quality and efficiency.

In enhancing quality and efficiency, the engraved cookie roller creates texture and pattern effortlessly so that students can focus more on the construction part of the mug. The decals add to creating personalized and meaningful images as well as a brand logo using designing apps such as Canva. The materials I'm requesting will support students to create beautiful surface decoration on their ceramic stoneware and will definitely help students gain a higher sense of satisfaction on a well-crafted art form.
