My students need to be competitive in this world. We have 2 surface pros that were generously donated in the past but we could use one more as they are used daily to complete assignments.
My students are the greatest students in the world. I teach students from all over the world in an inner city school in Massachusetts. They have so many cultures and life experiences and I learn from them daily. I have 47 students on my case load and I work with many different teachers in all subject areas. My students strive to do well, but have many hardships.
They come from poverty, abuse, homelessness, and neglect, but still come to school daily to try and improve their situation in life.
They very rarely complain about their life situations and if they do it is more of a matter of fact response than a "feel sorry for me" scenario. My students have many different types of learning disabilities and I work with all of them in conjunction with their regular education teachers in order to give them the best education we can.
Most of my students have passed the state mandated testing and most aspire for higher education or a hands-on career. They are wonderful, caring, and hardworking. I am proud to know all of them.
My Project
Students in my class have very limited access to technology in and out of school. They need the access to the latest tools in order to be competitive. They come from poverty stricken homes that barely have basic supplies and many do not have any technology in the home, so they have to do school work in school and after school.
This computer that I am requesting is crucial to the academic needs of my students.
We simply do not have enough access to technology and they often have to wait to use a computer or printer in our room and in our school.
