My students need ways to organize our technology. We are wasting so much instructional time because tablets can't be charged and headphones are tangled.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of energy, ready to learn, and excited for our day. My students learn through the arts using the Leonard Bernstein model. Each day, students learn about math, science, reading, and writing using the Experience, Inquire, Create, and Reflect framework. Artful Learning is a hands on, engaging, and dynamic experience for our students.
I teach at a low-income school in California where most of our families receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My students have a thirst for stories and literature. Many students are overwhelmed when asked to read independently. Most of my students are reading below grade level and this limits their access to rich and engaging literature. The simple sight word readers are not enough to empower my students to practice reading, and they deserve more!
My Project
My students have been blessed to have access to both Amazon Kindles and iPads. Unfortunately we are losing valuable instructional time because we don't have the proper materials to store and organize our materials.
We need a charging station so that all our tablets can be charged at the same time.
We also need a way to store our headphones so that we don't spend time untangling cords. Right now we are facing many challenges for access and organization. Students will use the hanging show organizers to keep headphones tangle free and prevent the spread of the dreaded head lice!
By having organized access to our available technology students will be able to spend more time utilizing the technology to maximize their learning!
