Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Eager with tons of enthusiasm, my students have a wide range of learning needs. Students in second grade are at an extremely pivotal stage in their development and need access to engaging and quality materials. My group of students are excited to learn and thrive in highly stimulating and engaging situations.

They love hands-on activities as well as spending time engrossed in books.

The school is set in San Francisco's Richmond district, an area with a very diverse population. From Russian to Chinese, my students come from homes with a diverse range of spoken languages. My classroom goal is to build community, build empathy and foster a growth mindset. Being a new teacher, I am fortunate to be a part of a supportive, warm and welcoming school with an amazing group of students.

My Project

In my class I integrate technology in various ways, from introducing project based learning, extension activities for students, typing and keyboarding skills, as well as learning support for students. This project will help my class by bringing up to date technology to our classroom. At the moment, our classroom has very outdated technology such as old desktops that are clunky, slow, and not very kid friendly to laptops that are buggy and are on their last leg of life. With these up to date laptops, my classroom will be able to have easy access to efficient and simple to use technology that can enhance our learning environment. My students value the time on the computer because they are able to take independence and responsibility for their learning in an engaging way.
