I am incredibly fortunate to work with a group of spunky and talented kindergarten students this year. This year the Kindergarten classes have been departmentalized, which means that I will only be teaching Reading/Language arts and Writing to both of my classes. Both of the classes are extremely intelligent and hard-working groups. With that said, we are also a Title I school, where over 90% of our students are on free or reduced lunch due to their family's low income. I love trying to bring them the latest and the greatest to my classroom to spark their interest and ignite their curiosity for education. I am already working towards a high level of achievement with these bright students and would appreciate a little push to give them the extra boost during their kindergarten year. Going into Distance Learning has made this even more challenging for me, and I am really hoping to get some assistance to give them a really good start before (hopefully) transitioning back to the classroom.
My Project
Since most of my students come from low income families, they have not been able to provide them with the necessary tools to work in this new technology classroom.
For my students, I am asking for over the ears Sony and Kensigton headphones, and an iPad.
The iPad will help me monitor their progress on the assigned computer programs while being able to walk around the room. The headphones are necessary for a quiet, uninterrupted time. This enables them to concentrate on the tasks.
My Kindergarten students will benefit from these donations.
