My Students

Technology is everywhere. Students today are raised on Technology. They can find it at home, in their cars, at the store, or just about anywhere that they go. My students need technology in their mathematics classroom so that they may become leaders of tomorrow in a world that is always changing.

I have approximately 120 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at a small rural Pre K-8 elementary school in Oklahoma.

Many of my students have gone to school here all of their lives. They enjoy learning and discovering new things, especially when technology is involved.

My Project

I am requesting a netbook computer. This computer can be used right in my mathematics classroom where students can access it each and every day. It is small enough for students to take it right to their desks. It will make learning math more exciting and technology readily available for students.

This project is very important to my classroom because our school has just adopted a new math program called "First In Math." This program focuses on the basics of math and is Internet based.

Since many of my students don't have computers at home, I need computers in my classroom so that students will be able to use this program.
