My Students

I teach at the most diverse middle school in my county. Because of this, we see students from all types of backgrounds, both culturally and socio-economically. In addition, I have a co-teacher with me most of the day and our classes become even more diverse, as we have students with various special needs mixed in with general education students.

I love the diversity of our school, and finding ways to make learning easier for the different populations you can find here!

My Project

This project will help my students use our technology in class more effectively. While most students have school issued devices, they lack some of the accessories that will help them be successful in class.

The various technological tools I am raising money to purchase include power strips, computer mice, and headphone jacks.

The computer strips will enable me to set up charging stations throughout my class for students to use when they forget to charge over night. They can also use the USB ports to charge phones and tablets. Additionally, students enjoy using computer mice instead of the mousepad that comes with school computers. Finally, headphone jacks will enable students with Apple products to be able to use headphones in class, if they do not have their own.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
