My Students

My classroom is full of diverse students and learners. I have a few with anxiety issues, ADHD, learning disabilities and three English language learners. They love learning and soak information up like a sponge. They are growing up in the age of technology and are easily engaged if lessons are digital or if there is an opportunity to work on technology based projects.

My students need to become connected with the world and be prepared for the future.

We live in an area with many computer companies such as Adobe, Micron, IM Flash and Ancestry. Students need to learn and practice the skills necessary to enter into this local workforce.

My Project

The materials in this grant will be used to help students with covid catch-up. I have seen a huge gap in student performance this year. These device will be used to help students practice critical skills they are behind on. Our district has purchased many awesome apps and programs, we just need a few more devices in our class to help facilitate the learning.

Many students are experiencing some gaps in their education from the online learning.

This is usually because of either unavailability of devices, support, or good internet at home. Many students have expressed that they are just not that kind of learner. One teacher can not help a room full of students that are on so many different levels.

Technology can help reach and teach the students where they are. The programs and apps used help teachers monitor and track their performance. I have asked students to bring their own headphones from home, but for different reasons many have not. Headphones are an item that needs to be replaced more often than we would like.
