Help me give my students 2 iPads, protective cases, and lavalier microphones for a creative way to express themselves for presentations, projects, and our school's Exhibition.

My Students

Fifth grade is the last hurrah before transitioning to middle school and my students are eager to make their last year exciting, engaging, and meaningful. Last year, during their fourth grade journey, my students showcased their flexibility and strength against the monster that was distance learning. They persevered through a large class size of 35 students; the unfortunate news that they would be in-person for only half the school week in a blended learning schedule during the last quarter; and continued to adapt to the ever-changing protocols of social distancing and abnormal constraints.

Over the past year, our school community adapted to significant challenges due to the pandemic, but yet it is our students that have shown the greatest resilience.

I want to honor and grant my student's wishes to begin their first year back to in-person learning and their last year in elementary school through the best opportunities and experiences possible. They most certainly deserve the finest education after a most arduous year.

My Project

These iPads and additional tech tools will be used on an almost daily basis throughout the two quarters of our Exhibition journey and beyond. Our school is an International Baccalaureate school and as a culminating project that encompasses the infinite things they have learned during their journey through elementary school, students create an action plan to bring awareness to an issue and be part of the solution. Students also learn through five other inquiry-based units throughout the school year that require them to share their knowledge in creative ways.

With the addition of these iPads, protective cases, and lavalier microphones, students will be able to complete research and make inquiries; document and share information; and create multi-media presentations to express their knowledge.

Not only will these tools be used during their Exhibition journey, but students can also use them for so many other activities - research, digital drawings/portfolios, videos, online resources, writing workshops, etc. There is so much to be gained through these tools!
