"I am a fourth grade teacher at an inner-city school. My school is a neighborhood school that serves the needs of students and their families. I have a classroom that includes students on different academic levels. My school is focusing on group learning this school year. I would like to document my student's learning by adding pictures to their portfolios. The problem with that is not having a camera to use. My school has four digital cameras that we share as a school. With 25 different classes in the building, it is hard to share. We have a routing schedule, but learning doesn't happen on a schedule. When I want to use a camera, I must put in a request and hope that no one else has requested that day. Having my own HP digital cameras in the classroom will allow me the freedom to capture the learning whenever it happens. I will be able to take pictures of my students when they are acting out a play about the American Revolution and place it in their history notebooks for them to do the journal writing. My students will have the ability to learn how to use a camera to take pictures of their weekly classroom science experiments. The HP digital cameras will be a learning tool that my students will have access to on a daily bases. They will increase my student's awareness of visual learning. The cameras will also provide another source of technology that my students will be able to use for themselves. Your support and time of this project will improve the learning environment within my classroom.
