They spent the rest of the time before dismissal playing with their new treasures, and it was so much fun watching them enjoy something that they had earned.\r\n\r\nFri-YAYs and our prize chest may look like simple fun, but they serve a real purpose in my classroom. My students know that these treats are earned through their efforts, behavior, attendance, and great citizenship throughout the week. When fractions are color-coded, when place value charts pop with different hues, or when geometry shapes are printed in bright colors instead of plain black and white, students are able to visually organize information in a way that sticks. I truly believe that students learn best when they are given the chance to see the world in color, and this printer has made that belief a daily reality in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most about this new technology is being able to see their learning materials come to life in vivid color instead of the dull grayscale copies we used to rely on.
