My students have multiple disabilities and use a variety of means to communicate and learn. As we grow and learn with our environment, an emphasis on hands on and adaptable materials is one of the many keys that help us unlock the potential of the future! We work each day to be active and engaged learners, having materials that will allow my students greater access to the material will only increase their understanding of the world and lessons surrounding them.
The students in my room are in desperate need for hands on, real time technology. With iPads in our classroom, my students will have access to things such as language and communication tools, augmented reality features, and interactive academics.
As special learners, the students in my room would benefit greatly from access to the amazing accessibility that iPads provide.
With accommodations such as speak over, access to alter display features, the ability to write a text or email without seeing the screen, and the opportunity to connect to devices such as Bluetooth head and body switches, each student will be afforded the opportunity to learn and grow. We will also use the protection plan to ensure that our new iPads stay safe and functioning!
