This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school is a located in the inner city. We service students who are in grades pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. The students are all in a Title I program where 100% of our students free breakfast and lunch Mondays through Fridays of the school year. The students have the desire to utilize technology during instructional time. The students are very creative using technology. This allows the teachers to use a variety of assessment activities to see if they are learning the concept. The students present information for mastery by using computers, software programs, and technology.

My Project

I need a laptop to use when the computer lab is used for another class. At least once a week for an hour or all day the school's only computer class is being used for testing or meetings. When that happens I have to have class in the teachers' class rooms. Sometimes the teacher's computer is available and sometimes it's not.

The laptop will be used to conduct computer classes away from the lab.

When I have to visit students in their homeroom I will have my daily lesson accessible by using the laptop while away from the computer lab. While in the lab when I service a class and a half when we are down a teacher the laptop will be used in the lab for those extra students.
