My Students

Singing, dancing, jumping, laughing, and learning are a few verbs that describe the welcoming atmosphere you will see daily in our classroom and virtually. Our ParentAware, four-star rated pre-kindergarten classroom has been running for 16 years and is ready for updated materials and furnishings.

The amazing children in our classroom deserve clean, high-quality educational materials that are visually appealing and safe to use daily.

Eighty-three percent of the students at my building qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. One of the honors I have, as the lead teacher, is that I get to collaborate with the families of our students. I get to help ensure their child’s first experience in school is a positive one! Many of my students are English Language Learners. I work to incorporate their home languages into our environment and routines. Our young students have the opportunity to learn through play and guided discoveries both inside and outside. From day one, all of our students learn mindful strategies for understanding their emotions, handling disappointments and disagreements. We do this by using games, solution kit cards, a breathing ball, a chime, role-playing, and lots of practice, of course.

My Project

These Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards would provide our students with a STEM Learning Lesson Bundle, Seasonal Learning activities, a preschool math bundle and more! Many of these resources include challenge questions, materials and lists for the challenge,a related books list, vocabulary cards and photo examples. Some of these resources include printable planning pages for children to draw their ideas on too! My plan is to laminate these resources for present and future use. All of these activities encourage students to think creatively and work collaboratively with their peers during their first experience in school.
