My Project

Please help give our students access to talking technology throughout their day. Our students with visual impairments are reliant on auditory feedback to complete some tasks. Calculators need to announce the figures that are being keyed in. Scales need to identify the weight amounts. Thermometers should have the capability of reading aloud the temperature.

This project aims to increase the number of daily devices that provide them with that voice assist while also creating a greater level of independence.

We currently have a couple of old, talking calculators but have lost a few this year and now no longer have enough working calculators for everyone in our math and life skill classes. We are also working to increase life skills like monitoring our own health and cooking, so we are asking for a talking thermometer and personal scale, as well as a talking kitchen scale.
