My Students

We are a 21st-century STEAM school, so our students are Scientists, Engineers, Artists, and Mathematicians. We integrate art with math, language arts, social studies with a special focus on science. Students here love to create using the engineering processes which includes asking questions, imagining, planning, creating, and improving. We are wanting to use those skills in the visual arts process to build permanent artworks that unify and instill hope in our school.

We would love to use books as a resource for learning literacy, science and compassion.

Our art room is a safe place to express your voice and discover new information. It is remembering what has come before us with an eye toward the future.

The nearly 740 students in our school are creative and artistic geniuses. Given the opportunity, they will build and create masterpieces that unite our school and the community. Our dream is to create long-lasting artworks that inspire students for years to come!

My Project

Our social and emotional wellness has struggled through the Covid pandemic! We haven't been able to meet as often or for a long as we would like! Sometimes we need to gather together (whether in person or online) and listen to a story about a new science concept, like animals and ecosystems. Or we need to learn empathy and compassion by learning from different voices and cultures!

Sometimes we just need to look at beautiful illustrations and find ideas on how we can better illustrate or create our art.

Caldecott winning picture books are a great way to promote literacy, science and compassion! We will use these books in our classroom to share new ideas and learn from each other during these difficult times!
