Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students all have special needs. They are taught in a self-contained classroom and go to the general education class when they are able. They are all very friendly and happy kids. Many of them are in single parent homes/families.

My students are very active and fun.

Our school is a low-income school. We try to provide all that we can for our students. My students love to work together and do projects. They love to learn but get distracted easily.

My Project

Tables are better than desks. Since my students can be distracted easily their desks are becoming a problem. Having tables will allow for the students to not be able to have distractions around them. Without the open space to put things inside the students will be better able to pay attention.

Tables also makes doing groups and projects easier.

Having the students at a table makes it easier for them to share supplies and materials. Since most of our academic times are split up into small groups tables make those groups easier to hold. They give the opportunity to hold a group without having to move everything.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
