My Project
Recess is an essential part of every child’s day. It provides a vital opportunity for physical activity, social interaction, and unstructured play, all of which contribute significantly to a child's development. Unfortunately, for many of our students with physical or developmental disabilities, recess often becomes a time of exclusion due to lack of accessible playground equipment.
As a special education teacher, I work daily with students who have diverse needs, including limited mobility, sensory processing differences, and developmental delays.
It is with these students in mind that I respectfully submit this proposal to install an adaptive, inclusive swing on our playground.
The purpose of this proposal is to request the installation of a special needs swing that accommodates students who require additional support. This swing would allow our students to actively participate in recess alongside their peers, fostering inclusion, joy, and a sense of belonging.
