Sweatpants for Cold Weather

My Students

The students in my class are full of energy and enthusiasm. They come from various cultures, speak different languages and many of their families are struggling economically. They attend a culturally diverse school where one hundred percent of the students receive a free or reduced-price lunch in the state of Washington.

Aside from the cultural and economic differences in our student population, you'll find that our amazing students are eager to learn and are trying to build successful lives that will be happy and productive.

As a school, we have been focusing on keeping our students not only organized but also physically and mentally healthy.

My Project

As winter arrives in Washington, it is important for my students to have warm clothes to protect them from the winter weather. This project is designed to give warm sweatpants to our students during PE class.

Many of our students do not have the means to purchase sweatpants or leggings so when we go outside they are in shorts and it is very cold outside.

Having sweatpants that students can borrow will keep them warm as they participate in PE. The sweatpants can be used all year but are truly needed during the winter.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
