Surpassing the Standards in Afterschool!

Help me give my students an engaging, fun, and nurturing after-school learning experience with lap desks, flash cards, headphones, candy, markers, and more.

My Project

Our school has an afterschool program. As a second grade teacher in this program, I am highly motivated to assist students in surpassing grade-level expectations. The students in this program are very excited about their academics and are eager to learn.

It is my goal during these afterschool hours, to provide intervention and enrichment where needed.

In an effort to do so, basic supplies such as pencils, erasers, dry-erase markers, headphones, and Lysol wipes are needed. I attempt to make afterschool slightly different from the traditional school day to keep students excited about learning. Flexible seating will be used to give students a choice of where they would like to be productive. Vocabulary cards, sight word cards, and basic fact cards will give students the opportunity to enhance both areas of strengths and weaknesses.

I look forward to seeing the growth of these students. They are maximizing their potential with an excitement for learning! As an incentive, I have included sweet treats as a reward for their effort.
