My Project

My second graders come to school with diverse strengths, needs, and life experiences. For many of my students, school is where they receive consistent structure, emotional support, and access to materials that help them succeed. Creating a predictable, organized, and responsive classroom environment is essential for their academic and emotional growth.

As a first-year teacher, I am working hard to build a classroom that supports the whole child.

While I am deeply committed to providing engaging materials and meaningful learning experiences, it has been challenging to personally supply all of the flexible seating, sensory tools, and classroom resources my students need.

The Flex-Space Premium Wobble Chairs will provide safe, appropriate movement options for students who need sensory input to focus and remain engaged during instruction. The A Little SPOT of Emotion book set will strengthen our social-emotional learning by giving students clear language to identify feelings and practice healthy coping strategies. Sensory tools and fidgets will provide appropriate regulation support, helping students return to learning more quickly and confidently.

The Place Value Write & Wipe Boards and dry-erase markers will allow students to actively practice math concepts in a hands-on, low-risk way that builds confidence. Essential supplies such as pencils, glue sticks, copy paper, and magnetic notebook paper will ensure students have the materials they need for daily lessons without interruption. Even small comforts like classroom snacks help remove barriers to learning so students can stay focused throughout the day.

Together, these resources will create a classroom where students can move, regulate, practice, and engage in meaningful learning every single day.
