It has made an impact in the classroom with my students. It was so helpful in different ways. My list was a variety of supplies my current students needed and some supplies that will be used for future students as well. \r\n\r\nSome of the items were snacks. The day the snacks came and I had them in our snack bin. the class was so excited. Seeing their glow knowing they would have a snack was amazing. They were hurried to get in line before recess to get a snack. Our school get recess at 9:30 and lunch is at 11:15. So students who haven't gotten a snack usually will get very frustrated and overwhelmed by 10:30 if they didn't get a snack at 9:30. I have one student who consistently gets dropped of by an uber with their older sister and by the time they get to school, he misses breakfast. by about 10 am he is so hungry that he becomes emotional can't get his work done. This is a kids who is in second grade reading at 111 words per minute. meeting grade level standards and will miss lessons because they are so hungry, they cannot focus. So when we have snacks it makes a world of a difference for student like him. To help them stay focused. \r\n\r\nSome the other items were toys. During rainy days, students can't go outside and they have rainy day recess. In today's generation most of these kids are put in front of a screen when they can't be outside. The science has show how screens have negatively impacted children. So during rainy day when student don't have electronics, they need other outlets to continue to play and explore. The marble runs and magnets help do that. It creates opportunities for students to build and explore their own imagination while keeping a safe and structured place. \r\n\r\nSome projects we have done with the other supplies are volcanos, using recycled materials to create things. Organization items have all been put to use to support student confidence and their own organization. So all their stuff is organized and can be found quickly or know where to look if they come in late. \r\n\r\nEvery donation is used and nothing ever goes to waste.
