My Project

I currently work in a program supporting at-risk middle schoolers. Right now are two students in my classroom but more will be on their way. School is often the most encouraging environment for these students, so not only will these supplies be used to support their academic achievement but also support their social/emotional needs by providing them with learning opportunities to expand their toolbox of strategies. My goal with this project is to make sure they have the supplies needed to make an impact on their future.

The flexible seating options and materials used for movement breaks will be used to help increase their focus.

These items include fidget bands, sports balls, and wobble chairs. The goal with these items is to allow students to try out options to identify what sets them up for success and allow them options for movement breaks.

Often the students arrive at school without their basic needs met, having snacks available will fuel their brains and allow them to focus on their work and learn new coping skills.

The laminating sheets, managing anxiety and mental health workbook, and feelings tapestry will be used to expand their social/emotional learning.
