My Project

These professional development resources will help me learn strategies to support a visually impaired student in academics, mobility, and social skills. I will apply what I learn by adapting classroom materials, creating accessible lessons, and implementing communication and social supports so the student can participate fully alongside peers. These teacher resource books focus on physical activity, academics, inclusion, and overall well-being. Additionally, I will share these strategies with my team to ensure consistent support throughout the school day, helping all students benefit from a more inclusive and engaging classroom environment.

This professional growth will deepen my understanding of building inclusion, promoting healthy participation for students with visual impairments, and supporting their access to all general education subjects, including art, music, STEM, and core academics.

I will share strategies from these books with my colleagues and support staff to ensure consistent implementation throughout the school. These resources will help all students benefit from a more inclusive and engaging school environment.
