I appreciate the books. I have read the first three chapters in each book and I'm bringing so much to the classroom. The one thing that sticks out the most is not assuming students know how to listen. Explicit instruction is needed to teach students how to listen. To provide differentiated instruction all students created a football character, boom cards, and candy corn. All students were given instruction how to listen. In small groups have one group one step verbal directions to create a acraft. To another group have multiple instructions to create a craft and to the third group, I showed them a model, how to make it and they worked independently.
