Students listened to \"What's the Matter Bear\" and then we made ice-cream floats to visualize and gas (from soda) solid (ice-cream) and liquid (Dr. Pepper and Coke). Students loved this! We also used circuits to turn the lights on for Jack to see as he was running away from the beanstalk and the Giant. The students learned so much from these fairy tales and STEM projects. Students really put together common characters, common problems and common solutions. Digger deeper in STEM students working on circuits said, \"Next time the power goes out we just put these together and make own light.\" Students are relating STEM to a bigger picture and solving community problems. Our next big project is a motor boat and wind boats. Students will be listening to FolkTalkes from Norway next week and creating Norwegian boats.
