This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am trying to restock some products we use in my STEM and science classes. Consumables such as hot glue sticks, pipe cleaners, and spoons which we use in a variety of projects. I've also requested some plastic coins and clothes pins for students to do a quick build called "Coin Tower Challenge." They have two options in the challenge. The first uses a coin, craft stick, clothes pin, index card, and 6" of tape. The challenge is to build a tower that supports the coin in the highest position. Option 2 doubles the supplies and they build two towers, but the second tower has to use the materials in the opposite order of the first.

In the Project Lead the Way: Design and Modeling curriculum, we do a project where students make a puzzle cube using small wooden blocks.

We will use the wooden blocks and hot glue for this project. I also ordered some finger protectors for safety with the hot glue. I've had students get burned. We also use the linking cubes I've requested here to learn isometric drawing and then to make the cube with the linking cubes before actually constructing it with the wooden blocks.
