My Students

My sweet students are so happy to come to school each day. I am always greeted with smiles, hugs, and plenty of excitement as we walk down the hall to our classroom. They love being at school in-person again. For many of my second graders, the last time they were in-person was kindergarten.

I can't change what's in my student's bank account, but I can change what's in their emotional account.

Our school is in a high poverty area of a large city. I want to see ALL their physical, emotional, and academic needs met.

My Project

My classroom is full of cute little faces that come from many different races and cultures. We talk about our feelings each day as we connect during Morning Meeting. They all want to have friends and be a good friend, but often do not know how build those friendships with each other.

As February approaches I know it is a perfect time to talk about race, kindness, equality, and love.

These books and supplies will be a wonderful starting point to talk about our differences and why they make us so great.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
