Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher, I strive to provide my students with a hands on and fun education that addresses all of their learning needs and abilities. We are a Title 1 school, with very low income and my class is made up of a variety of needs, backgrounds and abilities.

I have a class of 28 adorable 1st graders at PS 8 in the Bronx.

Many of my students have IEP's and receive services throughout the school day. So in our classroom I need to be able to present content in different ways for each learner to really be able to grow!

My Project

My class is in need of basic art and writing supplies for all the things we do throughout the year. Being a Title 1 school, the students come with limited supplies and we run out quickly.

These materials will enable my students to have new writing materials to to help them in all subject areas to create projects and engage in activities.

The post-its and highlighters are very helpful in Reading and Writing to mark up the texts. The crayons and markers are also needed for math activities and coloring projects in all subject areas. The charts help with lessons and enhancing their learning with anchor charts and copy paper is key in making sure the students have a variety of activities to meet their needs ready for them each day. All of the materials requested with better the classroom and the students learning!
