In my classroom, many students know their letters and sounds, but some are still working on identifying them. In first grade it is imperative to try and get all the students to identify letters and sounds and begin to spell CVC, CVCC and CCVC words as well as sight words! These letter blocks and magnet letters will make spelling and learning the letters not only visual but hands on for my little learners. The different manipulatives will allow me to break the students into groups based on their levels and they can have center based learning around the area they need to work on. They can practice identifying letters, sounds, or begin spelling words. The magnet boards with let them have a work space and the games will help those more advanced students attack more difficult words. These materials will make learning to read an write so much more fun!
