Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Life as we knew changed drastically for my students and I. Well the entire world to be exact. After two weeks of trying to wait out the Pandemic, we realized we would be home longer than expected. I began to distance teach from a home. I was not prepared.

During this time we learned the show must go on, LEARNING WILL TAKE PLACE for ALL Students.

I live in a rural community, which means my WiFi is not the strongest. During the lesson my WiFi would drop leaving my students confused. Thankfully I had a great group of students who was able to continue discussions while I was able to reboot my internet.

My Project

I am embarrassed to say during many Live Online Lessons. My computer either rebooted since its an aged computer or my Wifi would cut off. I am glad there is a resource such as Donor's Chose to ask for help.

My students deserve a teacher with adequate technology.

My county provided laptop doesn't have cameras, which means my students would not be able to view me during the lessons. I could not model reading and math strategies for my students. My personal laptop is borrowed from my daughter it is 8 years old and is separating from the screen to the keyboard.

The Hotspot will help with my internet. My internet is very inconsistent. It has shut off many time during lessons. This caused so much anxiety and stress.

The ink for my printer will allow me to print diagrams for my students to view during Live Lessons.
