This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Greetings! I am very excited to be teaching 6th grade Math again this year!

Many of my students are from low-income homes, but they are driven to come to school and work hard each day.

However, this year will be more challenging than ever due to the pandemic.

My Project

Nutrition plays an essential role in a student's life. Healthy snacks provide an energy boost to keep their minds working to their full potential, especially for these students who come to school with poor nutrition, and sometimes don't even eat the proper breakfast.

The snacks I have requested will help give my students a needed energy boost during the school day.

Studies show that healthy snacks in the classroom allows students to concentrate on learning, rather than their rumbling tummies.

From students making healthier choices to improved academic performance, nutrition education can benefit the whole school. I would like my students to be able to work with food in their stomach through our school day.
