Super Scooters to the Rescue in PE!

My Project

Please help my K-5 students rescue our scooter activities in PE with new scooters! The scooters my students are currently using are over a decade old, wheels have been falling off, they are too small for most of the 4th and 5th graders, they don't roll very well, squeaky and dig into the nice new gym floors my district graciously put in a couple years ago.

These new super (turbo) scooters would enhance my students physical education experience because they are bigger and roll more smoothly on the new gym floors.

My students absolutely love scooter activities. Their all time favorite is titled Monsters in the Backyard, but others include Scooter City, Scooter Tag, Scooter Hockey, Scooter Soccer and simple Relay Races. Scooters are beneficial for developing a variety of skills and abilities such as improving balance, strengthening upper and lower body muscles, developing fine and gross motor skills as well as helping with social and emotional development while participating in fun classroom games. My ultimate goal in getting these scooters for my students is to give them a quality physical education experience.

I currently have seven of the newer and bigger scooters and I am asking for help in getting 12 more, so that I can have a class set and retire the old, small broken ones. My students are amazing, and have been sharing the new ones amongst one another when we have a scooter activity for the last couple years. I've told them how expensive scooters are and that it's not in the budget to get more. They don't fight or argue and have never once complained. This is why I feel they deserve this! I want to show my students how much they truly mean to me and that I've noticed their thoughtfulness among one another.
