Help me give my students the ability to inspire younger generations in earth and space sciences with hands on models and scientific equipment.

My Project

The SUPER Scientist Expo provides a meaningful opportunity for high school students to mentor and inspire younger learners while fostering students’ natural curiosity, resilience, and enthusiasm for hands-on learning. Junior Scientists (grades 3, 5, and 7) actively participate in inquiry-based stations led by high school mentors, allowing them to engage with scientific concepts in authentic and memorable ways.

Each resource within the expo is intentionally designed to support student learning.

Interactive demonstrations and experiments promote engagement and deeper understanding, while structured recording sheets help students process and retain key ideas. Facilitators use developmentally appropriate questioning based on TEKS to encourage critical thinking, and the concluding debrief for high-school allows students to reflect on strengths and identify areas for growth.

The mentor-mentee model is especially impactful. Younger students benefit from relatable role models who make science feel accessible and attainable, while high school students strengthen leadership, communication, and content knowledge through teaching. Continued refinement of stations ensures that activities remain engaging and meaningful for all participants.

Together, these resources create a vertically aligned learning experience that builds confidence, strengthens skills, and inspires students to see themselves as capable scientists.
