Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a neighborhood school that services a low socioeconomic community of families, many in transition (homeless), who struggle financially. Many of the students I serve come from households that have difficulty providing their students with basic necessities. These hard-working families need help and support in order to provide their children with an equitable learning environment . I give my students a clean, adequately supplied, classroom with nutritional snacks regularly, and all I ask in return is that they try their best academically.

My Project

My students need snacks to keep them motivated and energized for learning all day long! These snacks would allow our students to have enough energy to keep on learning throughout the day and grow their brains! If we can make sure they get a snack, they will be able to better focus and really build the fundamental knowledge necessary for them to go onto the next grade and continue to be successful throughout school.

This project is important because our students have a very long day and need some different yummy snacks to help them stay engaged in learning.

If we can give them the smallest thing like an afternoon snack, they will be able to keep up their energy and learn even more in the exhausting afternoons. We also need classroom supplies that give their projects some extra pizzazz.
