My Students

I am an elementary school librarian in a hidden gem of a school in inner-city Baltimore, MD! My students are enthusiastic learners with a passion and love for reading, storytelling, building, and creating!

I am looking to build a STEAM-based, literature-rich, project-based learning environment for students in pre-k through fifth grade that fosters that love of literature and learning!

My Project

As an inner-city school librarian, I served a variety of students in grades pre-k-5 with very little district funding!

My biggest goal this year is to fill our shelves in our brand new 21st-century building with favorites for all ages with enough copies to allow more than one student to enjoy each title at a time!

This project focuses on titles not chosen by me, but rather, chosen by our students!! Thanks to our INCREDIBLE third grade reading teacher our students are OBSESSED and in love with Wayside School and I can not keep those books on the shelves! Princess in Black is another student favorite that's always checked out! The best way to build readers is by inspiring in them a love for reading - characters such as these do just that!
