My Students

Full of excitement for this brand new class, my high school photography students are eager to create awesome compositions with digital cameras! They are surrounded by and produce images on social media on a daily basis. These students are seeking to learn more about photography as an art form and possible business.

Since this is the first digital photography class to be offered at our school, the students are super excited and highly motivated to learn and create!

Obtaining the gear and equipment necessary to set up a "professional" photography studio in the art room will greatly increase their excitement and experience in this class!

I am looking forward to this new learning adventure with my students. They are all special and amazing artists!

My Project

Students come to Digital Photography class with a love for taking pictures and sharing their images with others. In today's digital age, many are equipped with smartphone cameras that spur their passion for photography, but some long to learn more. These photography students desire to take their skills to a new level of learning using professional grade materials and equipment.

We are working hard here in the art department to develop a quality photography program where students have access to professional equipment that they do not have at home.

Having the ability to practice in a relevant, real-world setting will give them the skills and confidence they need to continue their pursuits and passions with photography.

Setting up this studio space will enable students to practice manipulating studio lighting to create quality images that are both professional-looking and creative. Students will be able to work with portrait, product, still life, macro, and other types of photography using this equipment. This photography studio will positively affect the students' ability to achieve more and grow as an artist and photographer.
