We have started our study of the play, and students are developing critical reading skills for both the literal meaning of the plot and the allegorical implications. We are exploring the complex themes of hysteria, power, influence, and even corruption while learning how to dive deeper into a text. This edition of our text is especially helpful to deepen their understanding as it provides additional commentary and source notes. Our students are currently studying McCarthyism in their United States history classes. The work we are doing in English III is helping them to achieve standards mastery in multiple subjects. \r\n\r\nHaving beautiful, clean, high-quality books in their hands truly transforms the classroom experience. These beautiful editions prove to these emerging adults that literacy matters, that education matters, and that they matter. These books reduce some of the barriers to engagement and foster a sense of pride in learning. Your generosity is providing more than a stack of books; you are building confidence in our students and our community. Furthermore, our local college recently produced a theatrical production of the play that sparked further discussion of both The Crucible and the wider themes. Thank you again for providing these incredible tools to our school.","fullyFundedDate":1762966000601,"projectUrl":"project/real-books-real-impact-inspiring-rural/9693971/","projectTitle":"Real Books, Real Impact: Inspiring Rural Readers with The Crucible","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rojas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9431561_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1705101795212","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9431561"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_47230","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1545,"numTeachers":103,"percentFrplEligible":19,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":87,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.5,"schoolId":47230,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about William Blount High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"William Blount High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/tennessee/blount-county-school-district/william-blount-high-school/47230"}
