My Students

My students come from hardworking families with good hearts and great community spirit. Our district is diverse. We have students who live on farms in rural sections and students who live in urban sections of the district sharing the same classes, meals, and sporting events. When one person succeeds, everyone is rewarded.

There is a palpable feeling of pride and a common goal to increase opportunity and support meaningful change locally and beyond.

The community revolves around four schools. There are two elementary, one middle, and one high school, which educate our children’s minds, nurture their spirits, provide numerous extracurricular events and activities, and encourage their love of learning in every way possible.

My Project

At the start of the pandemic, our school secured chromebooks for every student in the district. What an amazing feat! Every student is now able to access the class lessons even when they are quarantined and not permitted to attend school. A majority of the staff now provides all work online to seemlessly provide quality education to all students, whether they are in school or at home.

Students need to have their chromebooks charged to access the materials.

Even the most responsible students sometimes forget to charge their chromebooks at home. Students can plug into the classroom outlets, but they need to have their chargers on them. Sometimes, these are forgotten, too. Sometimes, without a charged chromebook, the student misses out on the day's lesson. If we had chargers available to loan during class, this obstacle would be overcome. I'd like to keep loaner chargers in class to help end this problem.
