Students Need Precision Tools to Prepare Captivating Presentation

My Students

My students are a collective group of unique learners who have selected attendance at a project based learning school. Along with their parents, they have committed to excellent attendance, the mastery of teamwork and team building. They aspire to engage in and take responsibility for their own learning. This is accomplished through innovative experiences inside and outside the classroom. Students are encouraged to become resourceful problem-solvers and respectful, responsible community members.

This year my students will be asked to sharpen their presentation skills by spontaneously incorporating charts, graphs, tables and other visual tools to help support their claims and win over an audience.

Having the appropriate tool improves the likelihood that students will be engage in the activity. My students come ready to apply new methods and embrace the idea of moving forward toward growth. They love to share their knowledge and ask to share their projects with other classes and the community at large.

They eagerly take on challenges and are excited to have new tools and tactics which allow them to enhance their skills and use innovative methods to become more accomplished presenters.

My Project

My students love to share. They have polished skills at creating Power Points, slide shows, graphs and posters, and even puppet shows and plays to communicate their learning.

This year we aim to take their skills to a higher level.

The use of the interactive iPad and pen will provide a tool which allows students to reach beyond a rehearsed presentation and experiment with an interactive audience experience. I wish to let my student explore opportunities to create spontaneous dialogue with an audience and feel the power of "now". What confidence we can build; a new meaning for "pick up your pen"!
