Our students come to our school by selecting project based learning as an instructional format. They come to school ready to "try things" and find out how things work. They commit to learning to work collaboratively and solve challenges on a daily basis. They come from varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, yet united with their desire to explore, learn and grow. Because our students "opt-in" to this type of learning environment they come with a variety of skills and talents and have countless opportunities, not only to try new things, but work with different types of students. They have studied the design process this year and are ready for new challenges. Having found success with creating Rube Goldberg machines with cardboard and the plastic tubing that once protected our chair legs, they are ready to explore motorized objects and circuitry. This will lead us to the final phase of our school year where we take on the building and team games of Vex robots. We are so excited!
