Our school is located in a rural area in North Carolina. Students attend classes on a team and have the opportunity for daily encore classes (physical education, music, art, technology, business, etc.). Our library media center is a busy center of learning and reading for students and teachers.
We have over 700 hard-working students from a wide variety of backgrounds who take great pride in their school while overcoming challenges every day.
They are excited about learning and will benefit from any opportunities to further their education and life experiences.
My Project
We would like to produce a student-led school newscast on a weekly or biweekly basis. We need updated equipment in the media center to make this endeavor successful for our students. The microphones will add to the sound quality of our newscast, and the tripod mounts will allow us to adapt our existing tripods and iPads for recording purposes.
Our student newscast will foster collaboration and problem-solving while introducing students to real-world applications of technology and communication skills.
Students will write, produce, trouble-shoot, and star in the newscast. We plan to highlight student learning, generate excitement about school events, and celebrate student accomplishments (academic, athletic, musical/artistic, etc.).
