This will be completed in early December. The Knights for Christ students will assemble the cups. My husband and I deliver them to the Davidson County Senior Services center to be delivered with Meals on Wheels in the county. The picture of us is from last year with the boxes of cups (over 400) that we delivered. Your donation will help us deliver even more cups this year. The students enjoy putting the cups together and it is a small way that they can help in the community. We often receive cards or calls from the seniors or their family members who receive the cups. They are so appreciative. Without generous donors like you, this project would not be possible. Thank you for helping our students learn about compassion.","fullyFundedDate":1746548016288,"projectUrl":"project/knights-for-christ-christmas-cups-2025/9318842/","projectTitle":"Knights For Christ Christmas Cups 2025","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Grubbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9349580"},{"teacherId":2071511,"projectId":8822148,"letterContent":"The novel, \"A Long Walk to Water\" has not only benefited the students academically but through life skills as well. \"A Long Walk to Water\" has introduced critical thinking skills, empathy, and perseverance. The novel fosters discussions about global issues such as access to clean water, war, and survival. Students have learned to identify themes like resilience, leadership, and hope. It has helped students analyze dual narratives (Nya's and Salva's) and compare/contrast their experiences. The text also supports comprehension strategies like making predictions, summarizing, and citing textual evidence.\r\n Students have been actively engaged while reading this novel. Students have participated in independent, partner, and whole class reading of the text. They have annotated and journaled for self, text, and world connections. They have made connections from Salva's and Nya's stories to other stories of resilience and perseverance that have been read in class. \r\n Students who haven't participated in ELA class thus far have blossomed while reading this text. They have been eager to read and participate in class discussions and other activities. Many students have connected with the themes of survival and resilience, because they've faced personal challenges. There are many students who enjoy adventure or history that have engaged deeply with Salva's journey. Thank you for bringing the love of reading to my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1727993017975,"projectUrl":"project/books-can-take-us-anywhere/8822148/","projectTitle":"Books Can Take Us Anywhere!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Arrington","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2071511_orig.png?crop=720,720,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1727300346237","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2071511"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2608","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":703,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":42,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":76,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":2608,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Davidson Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Davidson Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/davidson-county-school-district/north-davidson-middle-school/2608"}
