This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a blended special education teacher, I navigate the diverse needs of my Pre-K through 2nd-grade students, recognizing that each of them requires a unique form of engagement. The need for a diverse set of learning materials is important in addressing these varied needs, particularly in developing fine motor skills. Strengthening these skills not only enhances their ability to hold pencils and improve handwriting but also lays a foundation for future endeavors like playing sports or musical instruments.

With these resources, I plan to make learning more fun by allowing students to create and explore during math and reading.

Utilizing gear sets, for instance, allows me to write letters for word-building activities or create hands-on experiences like scooping up puff balls to tackle addition or subtraction problems. This approach, rooted in physical engagement, proves to be effective across all grades by fostering better connections in both reading and math through active and enjoyable learning experiences.
